Actually, ye! I didn't bring them tho, so you gotta wait til I take shitty laptop photos of them.

[As Robotnik studies his machine, Beat plants his butt down, folding his legs together. Right there on the floor.]

Nah, they were so not interested in machines. All they wanted was to eat. Buildin's an' machines they just kinda... didn't see. An' no one seemed to mind it, if asked I jus' said it was a way to test the fog better. You know, science shit. You really sure you wanna sip that?

That's just part of science! Sometimes you have to taste something particularly disgusting!

[It's really not.]

Don't worry, it won't be a completely blind taste test. I do need to check some factors first.

[He says this as if he has any baseline for checking out condensed fog in the first place.]

And then I'll just have a little. If it provides what I'm looking for, then I can go on from there. If not, I'll keep testing until it does.

[Not that Beat is really interested, if Robotnik begins to talk his eyes will glaze over and his brain will wander off.]

Oh, uh, should we try an' get some normal fog too, since we know the thing can handle icky fog. Uh, if you turn into a wastes monster, brotha, where you wanna be buried?

It would make sense to have a chaperone, as much as I hate to admit it.

[Y'know, in case anything goes wrong. He'll have to schedule something. Anyway, of course he starts explaining a number of complicated concepts, although once Beat poses his next question he does stop.]

What makes you think I'll be capable of being buried at that point? [he jokes.] You might just want to run.

... Ya know. I ain't never seen a Fogged up Insect yet so like. Damn, shoulda brought my camera. Betchu it'd make a great home film cryptid thing. Me runnin' an' sobbin', you loomin' in the background.

[Climbing to his feet, he brushes his legs off, then goes over to the machine.]

Aight, le's get this thing in proper so you can start doin' whatever it was you was sayin' you was gonna do. I wasn't listenin'.

Maybe one day you'll learn to pay attention.

[He sincerely doubts that, though. Still, he can't complain that much, because here's someone who's willing to do all of the annoying work while he focuses on the important things.

So he'll just grumble a little. He flutters closer to the device to get a stabilizing grip on it with multiple arms.]

I'll have to make sure you bring your camera when I decide to give it the full taste test.

Meh, overrated, yo.

[Beat'll help lift the machine up, it's not too difficult thank god, but also just to keep it steady. That way they can shuffle it over someplace it can be... Beat doesn't know. Scienced on.]

Man, Ima bring a full fuckin' recorder. Gonna catch yer ass foamin' at the mouth an' dyin' in HD baby, 4k!

[It's not too difficult to take it over to the spot he left clear for the device, and once it's down on the floor he starts hooking various cables up to it and looking thoughtful. You know, science stuff.]

Don't you mean keeping a record for when I accomplish things no one's ever truly managed before?

You know what? If you don' die an' this goes smoothly? I'll... I dunno, yo, but somethin' outrageous. Though, good idea. Where yer pad and pencil shit at.

[At least he's not planting his butt down yet, instead rummaging in Robotniks crap to find something to make notes with. He's a good dog at least.]

How about you wait for me to tell you before you make a mess of my lab?

[Not that he has much room to talk, as his lab isn't seemingly the most organized of scientific facilities, but he at least seems to know where things are. He grabs a pad of paper and a matching pencil and then holds them in front of Beat's face.]

[He'll take the pencil and paper, grinning and wagging his tail.]

Ye dude, le's do some fuckin' science. An' by that I mean you do science an' I'll try an' pay attention 'nuff to write it down.

[NOW he plants his butt down. And while he does have photos of the machine, they're back home, so he will quickly sketch the machine onto the pad too.]

[He gives him an extremely judgey look, but he's the closest thing he has to an assistant right now, so whatever.]

Alright. Try to keep up; I'm not dumbing it down for you.

[And with that, he flutters around the machine, occasionally plugging things into different spots and taking various readings with his wrist computer. As he moves around he describes his findings, with no effort made in making anything more understandable. Eventually, he takes the tank out and sets it down on a table.]

The numbers are going haywire! Very fascinating.

[For his part, Beat is very good at note taking. He doesn't understand a lick of what Robotnik says, of course, and what he writes down may be misspelled as he does it phonetically, but it's all there.

As well as a few doodles of Robotnik being buggy and flittering about. When he's done, he looks up and squints a little.]

Haywire how, yo? I mean, I ain't gonna understand it prolly but hit me. Like, it's actually got juice to it?

It's been a while since I've seen something like this. Fog in its uncondensed form wields a good amount of power, of course, but this is off the charts. The last time I truly saw something so seemingly limitless... well, he's very limited here.

[He doesn't exactly explain further as he taps at his wrist computer thoughtfully.]

Of course, I designed the charts, so I could probably nudge the upper limits up a little. Note to self: do that next time.

[He taps on his wrist again.]

I'll have to save the real test for a point where we can avoid as much local nonsense as possible so it doesn't taint the results.

Uhh....

[It takes the werewolf a moment to think that over, rotating it in his head like a tumbling hotdog, before his ears perk.]

You think it gonna do what we think it gonna do, then? Beef you up pretty hard? I know it might make you whack lookin', if it gives you a super Fog form.

[He scratches his chin, squinting thoughtfully (and happily) as he does.]

Huh... is Fog forms more powerful? I ain't never tested it 'fore. Surely they gotta be, right?

That's... a good question. At the moment, I don't change in any noticable way when the fog rolls around, so I haven't been able to test that personally.

[Which might be annoying for scientific purposes, but not having to deal with a completely different set of changes every time the weather fucks around is a lot more workable.

Still...]

I wonder if something like this could force just such a transformation?
