Could be worse. Apparently I'm useful enough that I still get the run of the labs, but the lack of interruptions is inexplicably concerning.

I told him he was being stupid, but I feel like logic might not be his strong suit even in his current state. Does he do this often?

Sink his teeth into a bad idea and refuse to let go, you mean? Yeah. He's like a terrier but with terrible life choices instead of rats.

He'll come around eventually. He always does. That's just how it is with Pop, he comes and goes and there's no telling when he's gonna do one or the other.

We just gotta wait him out.

Seems like a lot to deal with in the first place just to have to wait it out. And, what, when he's got it out of his system he'll act like nothing ever happened and welcome you all back with open arms?

I'm a little out of the loop on what actually happened, though. He wouldn't give me the details. Tried to pull some "you'll always be welcome here" absurdity when I asked, which just raises even more questions.

Yeah, that's about the long and short of it.

[Pop's been in and out of his life his entire life. He knows it's not normal, but he's come to expect it.]

He had to do some things that he's not proud of and he's all up in his head about it. You'd think a career-killer wouldn't have a guilt complex, but Pop's never been somebody that makes sense.
